He served as the liaison between the British and Chinese Ministries for fourteen years. He spent a lot of that time traveling between the two countries and was often absent physically from Cho’s life. Cho cherished any moment she had to spend with her father, but due to his absences they were never close. MOTHER: Kai Chang is the quintessential Chinese wife. She believes that a young lady should be friendly and polite in all circumstances. She raised her daughter to be pleasant to everyone regardless of how they might treat her. Cho thrived in her mother’s shadow and learned many of her mannerisms from her mother. She taught Cho how to cook many traditional Chinese dishes. Cho sees her mother as a strong mentor and teacher. She also admires the strength her mother showed by practically raising two children on her own. BROTHER: Shin Chang is Cho’s hero. He took care of his little sister while their mother took care of the household duties. He’s the one that taught Cho how to fly and helped her realize that she could stand tall and still hold the proper values her mother was instilling in her. SISTER-IN-LAW: An Jiao Chang is the sister Cho never had. Cho loved her new sister the moment she met her. She is beautiful and has helped Cho immensely these past few years. An Jiao had a love of her life but chose to follow the role of dutiful daughter rather than pursue her own dreams. NEICE: Kuai Chang is just a few months old but is the light of her aunt’s life.	physical appearance SHE'S A WOMAN-CHILD IN A STATE OF GRACE _______________________________ Cho is a small framed Asian girl who has a bit of muscle to her from years of flying. She stands at 5’3” and weighs about 140 pounds. She often has a small smile on her face and her dark brown eyes shine with kindness. When she isn’t on the pitch Cho wears her black hair straight and long, sometimes pulling it out of her face with a barrette. While at work she prefers to put her hair in one long plait. While on the job Cho is always wearing either a practice uniform or game uniform. Her style of dress outside of work is typically casual but classy. You can often find her wearing a nice pair of jeans with a comfortable pull over shirt. She owns a few tee shirts but doesn’t often wear them in public. They are typically worn when she is lounging around the house. If she has any noticeable quirks it is the fact that she often plays with the tips of her hair. When she was younger, her mother would keep her hair short because in the Chinese culture a woman keeps her hair short unless she wants to be seen as a sexual being. Even though she was eventually able to convince her mother to allow her to keep her hair long as they weren’t being daily influenced by Chinese culture, Cho was well aware of the fact that any time she went home her mother could decide her hair had gotten too long. Therefore, she would stroke the ends of her hair in admiration of its length before her mother would cut it off. Over the years it has grown into more of a nervous habit.
personality Now I know what I believe inside _______________________________ In her younger years Cho was a vibrant youngster who flitted around her house always making her older brother laugh and being the perfect lady who was the apple of her mother’s eye. Everyone that came to the Chang house always comment on what a nice young lady she was. Being well read from the time she could pick up a book, Cho would often engage visitors in conversations that would allow her to impart her knowledge upon them in a way that was friendly and inquisitive. Having a father who worked in International Cooperation, Cho was often surrounded with new people and she had no fear of talking to any of them. This trait came in handy upon her arrival at Hogwarts. On the train she made friends with a few individuals even though she didn’t know what houses they would land. Once placed into Ravenclaw she quickly made friends with the other girls in her house, particularly those in her dorm. She proved to be a very loyal friend who would not only have your back if you got into a spat with someone, but would just as easily sit down and help you with homework or give advice about some issue in your life. She only took the class because her father insisted that she take it. She read the text and did all her class work like a studious little Ravenclaw. However, she didn’t really care to keep the knowledge for the long term so she didn’t really commit much of it to memory. ‹‹ Even though Cho’s parents have assured her that they will not force her into an arranged marriage they have still introduced her to a young man in China. Long Ye has done his best to keep in touch with her and try to woo Cho. She thinks he’s sweet, but has no intentions of returning to China to be with him. ‹‹ Her wand is elm with dragon heartstring. This is Cho's second wand. Her first one broke when a bludger got her in the side during her first week of professional training. ‹‹ Cho’s favorite reads are Muggle fantasy novels. She finds their versions of magic and magical creatures to be rather entertaining. Currently she is reading American author Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth Series and is anxiously awaiting the release of the next book in the series Temple of the Winds. ‹‹ She took Divination but dropped it after fourth year. She enjoyed the class and loved learning how runes could be used in the art. However, the amount of homework and observational journals Professor Trelawney assigned began to clash with her pitch time.
biography You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do _______________________________ Cho doesn’t remember a time when she didn’t live in England. She knows that she was born in China, but being three years old at the time of the move left very little memory of her native land. In those early years they would often go to China in order to visit her grandparents. By the time she was eight they had all passed from this life and as a result the trips to China ceased until Shing chose to go to school in China rather than Hogwarts. Then her only trips to China were to take her brother to school and to bring him home. At the age of eleven she received a letter of acceptance from both Hogwarts and the Chinese school. Not wanting to leave the friends she had made behind, Cho chose to attend Hogwarts. She was pleased when the Sorting Hat found it fitting to place her in Ravenclaw. Cho quickly adapted to school life and made quick friends with many of the students. Her favorite class was Charms. Her least favorite was Defense Against the Dark Arts simply because the professor was never stable. Being an avid Tornadoes fan and a skilled flyer, Cho tried out for the house Quidditch team her second year and made it as the reserve seeker. She didn’t get any play time until her third year when their seeker was out with a cold and she won the match against Hufflepuff. The following year she became the team’s full-time seeker. She remained on the team through graduation. Upon her exit from Hogwarts she tried out for the Tornados and landed the spot of reserve seeker. She spent a good deal of her time at Hogwarts in the library. Cho was very studious and always offered to assist her friends and classmates with their assignments. She scored quite well on both her OWLs and going into NEWTs chose only those classes that she thought would offer an interesting career choice should she not get a position on the Tornados. Cho spent the summer before her sixth year in China in preparation for her brother’s wedding. During that time she came to love her new sister-in-law. Cho found it rather fortunate that her brother had found a young woman he truly seemed to love even if it was through an arranged marriage. She was glad that her family wouldn’t force the issue with her as she had come to the decision that she would marry for love and not for convenience. The summer between her sixth and seventh year, Cho’s father retired from the Ministry and remained in England long enough for Cho to complete her schooling. As soon as she graduated her parents gave her the cottage outside of Hogsmeade and returned to China where they could be near their son and his new family. Cho remained in England so she could pursue her dream. Not being a full time member of the team (yet) she works part time Dervish and Banges helping to repair older items that use runic and numeric spells to help them run.
